Biancavilla was founded in 1480 by people of Albanian origins; it is located on the edge of a basalt ridge and features the Mother Church, enlarged in 1734 with the late nineteenth-century façade and a beautiful bell tower designed by Carlo Sada: inside it houses the “Madonna of the charity” that was brought there by the Albanian refugees.
