Museum Of The Treasure Of The Cathedral

Created during the Jubilee of 2000, the museum has a valuable collection, known as the Treasure of the Cathedral, that witnesses the creative talent of the goldsmiths and silversmiths from Messina and the devotion to the patron saint, the Madonna of the Letter.
The museum is located in the southern atrium of the Cathedral and in the charming atmosphere of ceiling lights reproducing a starry, it exhibits four hundred works dating from the 10th to the 12th century. In the lobby of the museum there is an artistic nativity scene from Naples, in the 18th century style.
The Museum is open all year, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., except for Sundays and religious holidays. The ticket price is € 4 (€ 2 reduced-price).
INFO: The Museum has two reserved parking spaces for disabled people and an accessible toilet; it has architectural barriers that hinder the entry of people with mobility problems; it provides an alternative accessible entrance. There is a reception area with counter and equipment (e.g, stand) at a height accessible to visitors in wheelchairs. The property has lifts and audio guides for visitors.
