Linguaglossa

Linguaglossa is maybe named after the lava flow erupted in 1634 which is recalled with a plaque in the city hall. Its most important monument is the Capuchin Monastery of 1644, rich in works of art; there are also the main church (Santa Maria delle Grazie) of the beginning of the 18th century, the S. Egidio church built on the church of the Holy Souls of the fifteenth century and the church of Saint Antonio and Vito of the seventeenth century.The Pro Loco association houses the Museum of the Etna people, which has a large naturalistic section with collections on the fauna, flora and minerals and an anthropological section with tools, artifacts and handicrafts.
