Mount Mojo

The volcanic cone named Mount Mojo is located to the north of Mount Etna, on the left bank of the River Alcantara, near the village with the same name. Seen from the South, it has the shape of a truncated cone. The volcanic cone of Mount Mojo is installed outside the volcano Etna, emerging directly on the sedimentary.
The results of the geoseismic detections, the data obtained from mineralogical analysis and the numerous incoherent products ejected enable to ascribe Mount Mojo to the eccentric craters of Etna, that is secondary volcanic craters where the eruptive conduit is not connected to the central conduit of the main volcano, yet they draw directly from the underlying magma basin.
