Museum Giovanni Verga

The house museum of Giovanni Verga is the home where the famous Italian writer lived; he was one of the greatest exponents of the realism movement. After the death of his last heir, the house was bought by the Sicilian government and was transformed into a public museum. The original rooms of a house can be identified, such as the living room, that features faithful reproductions of the writer’s manuscripts, hold within cases. The personal library of Giovanni Verga with around 26,000 volumes is very interesting.
The opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. and from 2.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day from Monday to Saturday, including holidays days.
INFO:In order to maintain the original aspects of the house, the museum could not undergo the changes that would make it accessible to all.
