Regional Museum Of Kamarina

The Museum exhibits the archaeological finds from the town, the necropolis of Kamarina and the neighboring territory. A section is dedicated to underwater archeology, with amphorae and finds from shipwrecks found off the coast. The following halls show the development of human settlements in the region, various funerary objects, collections of amphorae and objects documenting the rituals carried out in Kamarina, for example the cult of Demeter. The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions of findings kept in the warehouses. The museum features three pavilions and six meeting rooms and exhibits various types of amphorae, ornaments, coins, funerary objects, statues and flint objects and weapons dating back to prehistoric times.
The museum is open every day all year round, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The ticket price is 4 euro (€ 2 reduced-price).
INFO: The desks are equipped with speakers that enable hearing impaired to easily interact with the front desk staff. The entrance for visitors with reduced mobility is facilitated by a visible secondary entrance that is equipped with a call system to alert the staff. A priority queue is reserved to people with mobility problems. During the tour, visitors can take advantage of rest stops and signs and leaflets are provided. The facility is equipped with handrails and stair lifts and features three accessible toilets.
