Saint Corrado Hermitage

The valley of the miracles few km from the town of Noto is the location of the hermitage of Saint Corrado. The site can be reached through a staircase from the town of Noto. The Baroque Church was built in the eighteenth century and it is located at the end of a tree-lined avenue. The façade with two orders features a large central door with the statue of the saint on top and is decorated with bas-reliefs. The interior houses a votive museum. The area was visited event before the building of the hermitage, as a destination for pilgrims who visited the cave of St. Corrado, where he lived during his hermitage. In fact, next to the church a ladder leads to a room carved in the rocks.
