Taormina

The coasts of Taormina feature some of the most beautiful Sicilian beaches. Among them, there is Isola Bella with its nature reserve, the Mazzarò beach with its deep water, the Spisone beach with its islets of rocks and the known promenade of Letojanni.
There is also the tourist district of Taormina-Etna, a public and private company established to promote the socio-economic development of the territory of Taormina and the Etna, according to the logic of partnership. The district works to enhance the natural elements of the territory, its cultural and food heritage, and all the economic activities: it is a new tool that can act as a driving force for the development of the area and can create the conditions for the integration of other strategic sectors of the local economy.
The Taormina-Etna involves 58 municipalities, located between the provinces of Messina and Catania, around the volcano; it includes many different nature reserves: in addition to the Etna Regional Park, there is the Marine Reserve of Isola Bella, the Alcantara Gorges and the Nebrodi mountains.
It is a large area, which includes different realities from a morphological point of view: it goes from a wide area of mountains (the Etna Park and the Nebrodi, northerly) to a long coastline with Riposto, Taormina and Scaletta Zanclea.
