The Arethusa’s Fountain

The Arethusa’s Fountain is a body of water on the island of Ortygia, the oldest part of the Sicilian town and is a place between reality and legend and one of the most beautiful monuments of Syracuse.
Its origin is due to the development of one of the many Syracuse’s outlets of the water table, the same supply of the river Ciane on the opposite side of the port. It has a double circular shape (a double concentric circle).
