The Cathedral Of San Nicolo’

The Cathedral of Noto is dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra and was completed on a project by the architect Bernardo Labisi in the first part of the 19th century. The church overlooks a huge staircase and is a great example of the late Baroque style and its fusion with neoclassical elements. The main facade with side towers is made of limestone; the most important elements are the four statues of the late 18th century, the order of eight Corinthian columns and the presence of the three portals; the main one is made of bronze and decorated by the sculptor Giuseppe Pirrone with scenes of the life of St. Corrado Confalonieri.

Accessibility
